Abbeville finishing up

Here it is the abbeville with some color and material its for the most part done structure wise but still needs some material changes. Winding up the internship have been doing all sorts of odds and ends. This friday is my last day. We went on site monday and tuesday we did some work here with the 3d models and with some stuff for CV1. We are supposed to go on site today and then have a meeting at 1 with a home owner. We just found out that the house has to be flipped that it was opposite of what it should have been so I had to spend the morning fixing the plans and electrical work to show how it would really look. Going to be a busy few days before I leave. I think I will miss it a lot!

Abbeville Update

Here is the Abbeville thus far I just made the columns and will be adding them today to the lower patio area. I also have to fix the roof and window on the roof b/c its not meeting up the way it should. But the Abbeville is pretty easy as a whole. I also need to make the railings for the the front steps. Then I will be done with the basic structure. I will then need to add materials and textures as well as landscaping. This home has been a lot easier then the Montgomery to build. Plus I have been building the windows, doors, and columns on the side and then putting them in and this seems to work a lot better and allows me to push pull and model on the side and then copy and paste as needed.

Boiler Room is up and running!

The Boiler Room is Done! They had there soft opening on Aug 1st and it was a hit we all had a great time! The had there real opening yesterday Thursday the 6Th. I wasn't able to go but they filled the place with tables, chairs, games, and alcohol. So I'm sure it was a big hit. The nice thing about the bar is it's location it is in walking distance to all of the other bars downtown. Overall it was a really great project to work on and a lot of fun! I hope that when I get out and work in the field i will be able to do similar projects.

Boiler Room Update

Just wanted to update the pictures of the Boiler room to show the progress. It's all moving very fast and I wanted to make sure to document it we are looking to do a soft opening the first of August. Well see what happens and if we can make that date. It's looking like we will if we keep up at the pace we are going at. They have taken out the front door and windows as well as painting the interior of the bar green. They have stained the counters and hung the lights and it's all really coming together!

Boiler Room VIP pass

I worked on this today for Tony they plan to open AUG. 1st as a soft opening and give these out to family and friends. They will be providing free drinks and food. They only have a week or so left to finish up what there doing and to open the reason for the rush is that Natty's is having there 5 year old block party and they block off part of downtown. This presents a great opportunity to get out there and do some free PR for the bar. This little card will let you take a peak at what they have done and buy memberships to get in when it does open. I have also been working on the CAD for the Dorchester. Putting together the layers and doing the furniture layouts for all of the different versions.

Boiler Room Before

Here are some before pictures of the Boiler Room and the process it has gone through. We picked out the colors, textures, tile, counter tops, lighting, etc. Here is the progress of work...

Abbeville I

A quick look at the new model for Abbeville I. Just a couple of hours of work still has a lot to go. This will be a quick week only two days. Kind of slow at the office so doing odds and ends type jobs. We just looked at re-tiling the front display space and looked at different designs that we could do in the small space. We also looked at the boiler room to see the process and they have really gotten far the front room is cleared out and primed and the door was put in for the bar. They also painted the counter of the bar and put in the railing and stained that. The lighting is in and they are now working on the back of the bar.

moving down...

So I have moved from my relocated upstairs office to the downstairs office which was my first home. We have been busy at work. I have been helping with the bar next door picking out colors, stains and most recently light fixtures we took a trip to Lowe's last week as well as another lighting store here in Greensboro to look at lighting and we manage to get a great deal from both places on most of the lighting which was a great experience to see it from looking to pricing out fixtures to going to looking and buying to seeing them installed in the final venue. It all proves to be very hands on and i think that i will be able to apply this later on. I have been working on a lot of CAD drawings as of late. Re-doing all of the single family dwellings and put in the electrical and furniture and color coding everything as need be. Busy week and looks to be like a semi busy week this week as well (7/14) I think i will be doing more CAD and helping out with the show room and the boiler room.

Another week down

These are some images of logos and work i have been working on. SOB is on the side work but is the owner of the Boiler room who is working directly with interior expressions the boiler room logo i reworked because of some issues but the SOB is a 2x2 business card and then i did flyer's which i will post at a later date. I also have worked on the flyer for B room and also there applications, membership cards, and rules and regulations document. The boiler room is the project that i really like b/c I'm able to offer up ideas and they are going to be using one of them in the front room of the bar. So i have been documentary the process and will also take pictures and post them. The bar will be opening soon and its great to see the process and be able to work along sign the team and pick out colors and stains and finishes as well as fixtures and such. On top of the bar i have also been working on the Elon map looking at the surrounding area and picking out key locations that people would want to know where certain places would be ex. shopping, hospitals, schools, parks, etc. The modeling of the single family homes has been put on the back burner and the Elon map is what i am working on at this point. Whenever the boiler room needs work we just put everything else to the side and work on it. I was able to meet with a potential homeowner yesterday and pick out the finishes and upgrades for the home which was a great experience the lady was super sweet and asked my opinion on everything which was really great. She also took a lot of my advice which was great! I have also been working with other employees on computer problems, mailing lists, ordering mailers, etc. Which is a nice break from sitting at the computer working all day. Very busy week can't believe it's already over. I'll keep you posted!

Thursday 6/25

It has been a very busy week at work once again. This week we reset the show room. They ended up using concrete for the flooring in case of any more flooding. We moved and cleaned everything and put it back to normal downstairs. That took all day Monday and most of Tue. Then Tue i finished up with the montgomery model. Wed. We had a meeting with the office about the single family homes. We talked about options that would go into the homes and did a brief overview of what all was needed. We talked about LEED and green options that could be added as well. Then we went next door to the boiler room to pick out stains and tour the progress. I ended up doing a study on sports bars to get some ideas for the place and how to decorate. We looked at colors and options and then did another walk threw. I ended up reworking the logo and am still trying to work out the logo to make it a little simpler and more direct. I will being working on that today and I just finished working on some materials for the Montogmery it looks like I will be doing a lot of modeling this summer b/c they are looking to add several other homes and place them side by side to help the buyer see what the neighborhood would look like. I'm looking forward to helping out with the bar next door! The pictures above are the Montgomery with some materials which will more then likely change and then also a map of one of the developments with the sold signs on them I did that last week but wanted to put it up. I did it for all of the maps so they could print them out and show all of the lots that are sold it makes it look like there going fast and that buyers need to buy soon. Next week looks like it will be busy as well. Well see what happens, hopefully more with the bar.
